TD MLA Trimurtulu set to join YSRCP
Hyderabad: Another TDP MLA Thota Trimurtulu is all set to join YSRCP. He came to Hyderabad and met Minister for Fisheries Talsani Srinivas Yadav at his residence and is said to have discussed the political developments in the state.
On record, Thota said that he had called on Srinivas Yadav to congratulate him for being taken into the cabinet once again. Later, Srinivas Yadav told media that he would continue to go to Andhra Pradesh. “When that CM (N Chandrababu Naidu) comes here and uses his energy, spends about Rs 1,000 crore and his intelligence there is nothing wrong in me going to AP,” he said.
Yadav lashed out at the AP CM for he came here and asked people whether KCR gave jobs to the youth. “We will also go there and ask the people about the implementation of promises made by their CM,” the minister said.
It may be mentioned here that Naidu has been alleging that TRS government was threatening TDP leaders who have business interests in Telangana and was prevailing upon them to quit TDP and join YSRCP.
A look at the sequence of events that preceded this meeting gives greater credence to this charge of Naidu. However, Srinivas Yadav said that there was no such issue in last five years. But reiterating his charge on Wednesday at NGOs meeting, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that it might not have been there in last five years but now that “three Modis” have joined hands they were trying certain tricks.
He said they can protect their business or properties there but don’t do anything that would affect the development of AP. He called upon people to defeat all such leaders who were trying to compromise state interests for personal reasons.
It is also learnt that Trimurtulu’s brother and Kakinada MP Thota Narsimham is also contemplating to follow his brother. Narsimham had quit Congress soon after bifurcation and joined TDP and had won from Kakinada Parliamentary constituency.
MP Avanti Srinivas who had left TDP recently and joined YSRCP and Narsimham have joint businesses in Hyderabad. These two leaders along with MLA Amanchi Srinivas who first among these three to join YSRCP had been in close contact for past some time.
Narsimham met the Naidu on Tuesday and said that since his health was not cooperating with him, his wife Thota Vani should be given a ticket to contest from Jaggampeta Assembly constituency. But Naidu it is said refused to accept the demand. The party sources say that meeting Naidu was an exercise to create an alibi to quit the party. He knew that his demand would not be accepted they said.
The reason for Naidu’s refusal to accommodate Vani was because he had already assured Jaggampeta ticket to Jyothula Nehru when he quit YSRCP and joined TDP. Nehru is a formidable force in that part and is a sitting MLA.
