Cultural fiesta from March 1
Hanamkonda: The Warangal-based Sahrudaya organisation, which has been working to promote Indian literature and culture since 1996, is to organise 20th Telugu Language Invitation Drama Competitions from March 1 to 4 at the Government Markazi High School in Hanamkonda. The event is sponsored by the Department of Language and Culture, Telangana, and Film, TV and Theatre Arts Development Corporation.
Disclosing details, Sahrudaya general secretary NVN Chary said the eight stage plays from two Telugu-speaking States have been selected for the four-day event. “The cultural fiesta is aimed at reflecting human values, contemporary social issues, comedy, satirical and social relationships. All the eight plays are thought-provoking,” he said.

March 1: ‘Nirjeeva Ninaadam’ by Sharvani Srikakulam and ‘Megha Varnam’ by Kala Bharati, Arepalli, Warangal
March 2: ‘Panjaram’ by Kalanjali, Hyderabad and ‘Maa Premaku Nyaam Kaavaali’ by Chaitanya Bharati, Karimnagar
March 3: ‘Reverse Gare’ by JRK theatres, Bapatla and ‘Talupulu Teriche unnaayi’ by Sri Sai Arts, Kolakaluru
March 4: ‘Aalito Saradaagaa’ by Amateur dramatic Association, Chilakaluripeta and ‘Shubhalagnam’ by Mayuri Arts, Warangal.
Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar, Department of Telangana Language and Culture Director Mamidi Harikrishna and LIC of India SDM AE Vishwarop would inaugurate the programme. Chief Minister’s Office OSD Deshapati Srinivas and veteran actor of theatre, TV and cinema U Subbaraya Sharma would take part in the finale. Interestingly, the organisers have decided to give best audience prize to a person, whose judgment equates with that of judges.
