Education, Agri, transport Ministers assume offices
Hyderabad: Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for reposing trust in him and inducting him in the Cabinet for the second time.Addressing the media after assuming charge at the State Secretariat here on Thursday, he said education is the backbone of the nation. Chief Minister KCR has formulated different plans and policies to strengthen the education system in the State.
He said the Chief Minister had thought about KG-to-PG during the separate Telangana movement. Already, the Gurukul Residential Schools (GRS) in the State are earning nation-wide accolades. Earlier, schools in Telangana could not get buildings, toilets in the united AP. However, the Telangana State could resolve several of these issues and moved forward. Jagadish Reddy said that the first KCR government had focused on agriculture.
And, KCR had promised to focus on education and health if the TRS came back to power. Accordingly, several reforms have been introduced in the education sect in the State. And, “I will give my best to make the State education sector number one in the country, “the minister said. State Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, who also took charge of office on Thursday, said farmers were crushed under debt burden in United AP and the agricultural sector in Telangana was in the doldrums.
However, the foresight of Chief Minister KCR resulted in the construction of big projects like Kaleswaram on River Godavari. The State government is already extending free 24-hour power supply and providing water for irrigation. The Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS) is one-of-its-kind of programme in the country, which, gave self-confidence and self-respect to the farmers in Telangana.
Thanking KCR for giving him an important assignment, Niranjan Reddy said “I started walking in the footsteps of KCR from the days of separate Telangana movement. I will take along with me the entire administration in the Agriculture and allied department to move forward to fulfill the dream of KCR,” he added.
