Lukewarm response to Centre’s rythu scheme
Vikarabad: The Central Government has framed the rules and regulations on its flagship programme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) in such a way that it is receiving a lukewarm response from farmers across the district.
It is learned that a family (wife and husband, two children) with land holding less than five acres are eligible provided that children should have ration card on their name if they are majors. As a result, only 40 percent of farmers are eligible for the scheme.
On the other side, the State government’s prestigious scheme Rythu Bandhu is turning a model for all states after the government has been providing input investment to all farmers irrespective of landholding.
So far, the state government had deposited crop input investment two times. It is learned that as many as 90,000 farmers will be benefitted by the central government’s scheme. The government will deposit Rs 6,000 financial assistance in three installments. District Agriculture officer Gopal said they will submit the data of beneficiaries to the government in two to three days.
