Mahbubnagar: With the Telangana State Government Life Insurance department officials (TSGLI) taking it light with regard to issuing of bonds on time for the fixed premium deducted from the salaries of employees, the staff of almost all departments have been making rounds to the TSGLI office in Mahbubnagar only to be disappointed due to nonchalance attitude of the office staff.

Many State government employees such as health department workers, teachers and others are made to make several visits to TSGLI office only to be told to come next day due to absence of concerned staff in the TSGLI office. This kind of an attitude of the TSGLI officials in Mahbubnagar clearly shows that they are in deep slumber.

In fact, the TSGLI officials, who deduct the premium from every State government employee’s salary every month, must issue payment slips every month and also ensure issuing of policy bonds to every employee as and when their pay scales are increased.

However, because of lackadaisical attitude and regular absenteeism of the TSGLI officials, the State government employees from various departments are facing a tough time as they are not getting their bonds on time. The situation is more pathetic for someone who is in urgent need of the bond in the eventuality of an emergency.

Expressing concern over the way in which the TSGLI are dealing with the issues and problems of the employees, one of the employees from Health department poured her woes. “I was appointed as a nurse in the health department in the year 2006 and premium amount is being deducted from my salary every month. Whenever my salary was enhanced, they deducted the premium as per the increased percentage of the salary.

However,  they have not provided additional bonds and due to which I am facing a tough time and making visit to the TSGLI office only to see the absence of the officers and staff,” said the worker, who wanted to remain anonymous.

When The Hans India tried to find out the facts and approached the TSGLI office which is located just a furlong distance from the District Collectorate, to the utter shock, there was no employee present in the office except one or two attenders.

When enquired about the absence of the employees, the peons and attenders responded nonchalantly. Out of about 12-14 employees in Mahbubnagar TSGLI office, except 2 or 3 outsourcing employees almost all regular employees come only after 11.00 am and they leave the office before 4 pm, because of which the pending files in the office are piling up.

In view of the above situation, the State government employees from various departments are urging the higher authorities to immediately look into the matter and ensure that the government employees be provided with their bonds from time to time.
