WHAT THE WINNERS SAID
NON-VEG CATEGORY A Manjula, winner in the non-veg category, said: “I made a tri-color biryani with three different flavors, the green part was made in mutton biryani. White part was prawn biryani and the orange part was combination of chicken and mutton keema biryani. I dedicated this to the martyrs of Pulwama attack. This was a small tribute to them from my side and I was very happy that the judges liked my concept and taste of it. I’m very thankful to The Hans India and all the sponsors for conducting this contest and giving us the opportunity to show our cooking skills.”
Farheen Khan, 1st runner-up, said, “I had made fish biryani for the contest and I never expected that I will win second prize. I’m very happy. Thank you so much Hans India for giving me an opportunity to come out of my house and compete here.”
P Aruna, 2nd runner-up, said, “I made prawns biryani and when I knew there were three prizes to be won, somewhere I expected I would win and I’m very happy that I won. I was very nervous at first to see all other participants giving their best to win. I thank The Hans India for organising ‘Ghar ki Biryani’ and I am looking forward to more such women-oriented programmes.”
VEG CATEGORY
B Nikhitha, winner in the veg category, said, “This was my first time to participate and do live cooking in a competition and I’m happy to come so far and finally win it. I am now very much confident and I will surely take part in future competitions. I would like to thank The Hans India for conducting this event.”
B Varalakshmi, 1st runner-up, said, “My dish was veg paneer biryani. Everything was well organised by the hotel staff and The Hans India management and I feel this is a good platform for homemakers like us because we have always seen it on TV shows and now ourselves participating on such a big scale has really made us and our families proud.”
Swarna Sri, 2nd runner-up, said,” I made jackfruit biryani because of which I won the last round. I cooked it with a different method this time and used less oil and tried to blend the spices even more and made it better than last time. Somewhere I knew I would win and I am feeling very happy to win. From now onwards, I will try new dishes and varieties and will enhance my cooking skills. I would like to thank The Hans India and all the sponsors for organising this contest for all the housemakers like us. We are looking forward to more such contests ahead.”
