Ration shop dealers vow to work honestly
Secunderabad : Ration Shop Dealers have promised in the presence of Civil Supplies Commissioner Akun Sabharwal that they would work honestly and with dedication and fully cooperate with government in serving people. They also said they were not going to participate in the National Ration Dealers Strike which starts from March 1.
The Commissioner held a meeting with ration shop dealers on Monday at Civil Supplies Bhavan. Presidents and Secretaries from all Telangana Districts participated in the meeting. The Commissioner said the State government was bearing several crores of rupees in form of subsidies by supplying Rs 1-a-kg rice to the people. He said, “Ration dealers play major part in the public distribution system and therefore they should work honestly and with dedication to make justice to their part.” He requested them not to indulge in rice recycling and so on.
The Commissioner said all the dealers should compulsory put display boards at Ration Shops with Civil Supplies Department Toll Free Numbers 1967 &; 1800 425 00 333 and also WhatsApp no. 7330774444. They should also compulsory mention number of ration cards, total stock and price on the notice boards. Every transaction should be completed by issuing receipt to the beneficiary. He said Civil Supplies Corporation will buy gunny bags from ration dealers at price decided by Central government, if any suggestions dealers can also make in this issue.
On the occasion, ration dealers pledged that they would work according to the rules and regulations and will not indulge in any malpractices. They will supply commodities to the beneficiaries and will not sell or buy in black market. They will also serve the people honestly and with dedication and support government in eradication of black-marketing.
