Police station needed at Bandlaguda: MLA
LB Nagar: Local legislator Devireddy Sudheer Reddy asked Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagawat to establish a police station at Bandlaguda, while inaugurating 82 CCTV cameras worth Rs 8 lakh at Chandrapuri Colony here on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Sudheer Reddy demanded the setting up of CCTVs at every colony in the constituency. He also highlighted the traffic problems in the colony and brought the issue of heavy vehicle parking in the colony to Mahesh Bhagawat’s notice.
The Commissioner of Police responded positively to the issues raised by the legislator. He said that there were only 8,000 cameras under the Commissionerate limits. Now, the number reached to 68,5000, he added. He said that when the State government has been moving forward with a slogan of potable water to each household, the commissionerate’s slogan was CCTV camera to each household. He said that most of the cameras arranged were under ‘Nenu Saitham’ initiative taken by the Rachakonda Commissionerate.
