Rangareddy: District Collector D Lokesh Kumar has approved the proposals of the administration to constitute Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs). As the tenure of the current ZPTCs ends in five months, the officials have made plans to constitute MPTC, ZPTC positions as per the revamp of districts. As part of districts reorganisation, some new mandals have emerged and some come under different districts. Hence officials have had to prepare a new list of MPTCs and ZPTCs accordingly.
Zilla Parishad in-charge CEO Devasahayam and other officials have been tasked with constitution of new zilla parishads for the last one month. After taking into consideration the opinions of people, they submitted the final list to the District Collector.

Currently, there are 18 ZPTCs in the district. As new mandals have emerged, this number has been increased. They proposed 21 ZPTCs and the District Collector approved it as they had not received any objections from people.
The officials also made a proposal for constituting 42 new MPTCs and 4 ZPTCs in the district, but the Collector is yet to give his approval. Zilla Parishad CEO Devasahayam said that they would make an official announcement once they get the green signal from the Collector.
