Cops call for strict vigil during Lok Sabha polls
Kothagudem: The police officials of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Odisha attended an inter-State border meeting conducted in Kothagudem on Thursday.
The meeting, which held in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, discussed measures to be taken to prevent occurrence of untoward incidents during the polls. The conference, which was chaired by Telangana North Zone IG Y Nagar Reddy and Eluru Range DIG Trivikram Varma, also discussed flow of cash during polls, transport of alcohol and efforts by political parties to lure voters.
They also decided to closely watch Maoist movements and share the information among the officials of the four States to ensure smooth conduct of elections. Officials of the CRPF battalions 39,141,151,212 and many of officials from Sukma and Bijapur districts attended the meeting.
East Godavari SP Vishal Gunni, Jayashankar-Bhupalapally SP R Bhaskaran, Bhadradri-Kothagudem SP Sunil Dutt, Sukma SP Jitender Shukla, Kothagudem Additional SP (Operations) D Uday Kumar Reddy, Bijapur Additional SP Divyang Patel, Bhupalapalli Additional SP (Operations) Suresh Babu, Rampachodavaram ASP Rahul Deo Singh, Chinturu OSD Amit Bardar, Eturunagaram ASP Sharat Chandra, Malkangiri DSP Rishikesh, Chinturu DSP Dileep Kiran also took part in the meeting.
