‘V R 1’ Run on Mar 17 to stress women safety

 Hyderabad: The SHE Team in association with the Barosa Team have organised the curtain raiser of slogan ‘V R 1’ (We are one) at FAPCCI on Wednesday.  According to organisers, the event was an effort to inculcate the concept of looking at each other with dignity and equality and make Hyderabad the safest city. They said that ‘V R 1’ Run was scheduled to be held on March 17 at the People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. Addressing the gathering, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said, “When a girl is safe that means her family is safe which means the society is safe and ultimately that means our country is safe.” 

He also said that the women's safety has been given highest priority by the Telangana Police and Hyderabad City Police. He also asserted that the City Police’s efforts for the wellbeing of women in the form of She Teams are giving fruitful results since its inception.

 Shikha Goel, Additional Commissioner, Crimes and SIT, said everyone must feel responsible for women safety in the society. “Events like ‘VR1’ will help the women to come out and report the harassment to police,” Sikha added.

 Praising the She Teams, Tollywood actor Nikhil Siddharth said, “Naina Jaiswal and Shikha Goel are the real heroes and the best example for women empowerment.”
 
Naina Jaiswal said women should become more powerful and should achieve a lot in their lives instead being inside homes. She also appreciated the She teams and Telangana government for their efforts creating and awareness among women safety.

Rajiv Trivedi, Principal Secretary (Home), said, “Movies should avoid showing the scenes like women abuse and domestic violence on women.” 

Later, Burra Venkatesham, Secretary (Tourism and Culture) spoke about the achievements of SHE teams and lauded them for their efforts to ensure women safety and empowerment.
