Fishermen seek compensation

 Kapra: Seeking compensation to fishermen who lost their livelihood due to the beautification of Kapra Pedda Cheruvu, representatives of Medchal-Malkajgiri Kapra Fisheries Industrial Cooperative Society submitted a memorandum to the officials concerned here on Friday.

Later addressing the press persons. society president T Anjaneyulu said that as many as 300 families from fishermen community depending on the tank for 42 years. He said that they were rearing fishlings in the tank and selling fishes. He sighted shrinking of tank area from 204 acre to 90 acre. Society general secretary M Ravinder, leaders Gali Yadagiri and Muralidhar were present.
