Safety awards presented to 13 SCR employees
Secunderabad: Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway, presented ‘Man of the Month Safety’ awards to 13 employees for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He conducted a detailed review meeting on safety, punctuality and ongoing project works of the zone at the SCR headquarters on Tuesday.
Principle heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
The General Manager advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to accord top priority for the safety and punctuality of the train services. He also instructed the officials to intensify the safety inspections of the identified vulnerable sections specially focusing on track maintenance, signaling systems, weld failures to avoid unusual incidents.
He also advised that all the gatemen, trackmen, loco pilots and guards to be regularly counseled through seminars and workshops to improve awareness on safety aspects. The General Manager instructed the divisions to review the fire safety systems on trains and at stations and strengthen the infrastructure to deal with the incidents of fire.
The General Manger also reviewed the progress of the ongoing infrastructure, station redevelopment and passenger amenity related works etc, of the zone in detail and instructed the officials to take suitable steps to speed up the works.
