Court slaps fines on vehicle owners

Malkajgiri: The Fifth Special Metropolitan Magistrate has imposed a fine of Rs 33,600 on owners of 27 vehicles for drunken driving or lack of licences. The checks were taken up by the Malkajgiri police on March 3. The magistrate sentenced one person, M Yadagiri, son of Narsimha, to imprisonment of 15 days. Inspector K Murali Mohan, on Wednesday, appealed to vehicle-riders not to undertake driving in drunken condition and also not hit the road without licences.
