Women’s role in social change vital, says Dana

 Khairatabad: Women play a key role in bringing about a change in society, observed M Dana Kishore, Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board, on Friday.

Addressing the 108th International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations organised by the women employees of the board, under the leadership of Women Employees’ Association president S Padmaja, at Institution of Engineers, he called for  efforts to remove inequality faced by women in society. 

Kishore stated that, “everyday should be treated as International Women’s Day and women should be honoured at all times,”  adding that two women officers of the board had been given due respect and promoted as CGMs. 

The MD stressed the need for treating both girls and boys equally in every house. “Women have a big role in ensuring that boys give girls due respect.” He pointed out that women were faring well in all areas, as they had the quality of protecting others right from their birth.
Prizes were presented to the first and the second winners in the various sports events organised to mark the IWD. Cultural programmes held during the day received appreciation of the gathering.

Among those present were Director (Operations) Ajmira Krishna, Project II Director D Sridhar Babu, Technical/P&A Director V L Praveen Kumar, Institution of Engineers Telangana centre representative D Rameswara Rao.
