Send Modi home: Rahul
Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said the duo had entered into an understanding to create two types of India. One to benefit the rich like Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, Vijay Mallya and the like and another to keep the poor suffering.
Addressing a booth-level workers’ meeting of the TPCC where he sounded the poll bugle for the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul said Modi has a large heart for the rich like Anil Ambani but has no money to waive off farmers’ loans. It is unfortunate that KCR was cooperating with Modi in his acts. KCR was the first to extend his support to Modi in anti-people’s decisions like demonetisation and GST which have affected the small and medium businessmen and has brought them on to the streets, he added.
“KCR, so far, had never questioned Modi on Rafale deal. TRS leaders always extended support to Modi in Parliament on every decision taken by the BJP-led NDA government which were against the wishes of the poor,” the Congress chief alleged. Announcing that the ‘Minimum Income Guarantee’ scheme will be enforced soon after the Congress comes to power in the country, Rahul said all deserved will be included as beneficiaries in the scheme irrespective of parties, language, religion or caste.
“We will bring all the money taken away by the bank fraudsters and distribute them to the poor,” he said.Stating that Modi was not sensitive towards the plight of the farmers, Rahul said the Congress was committed to fight Modi’s corruption and dethrone the BJP in the next elections. He further said that Modi had not only destroyed the economy of the country but also compromised on the safety and security of the nation.
“When China intruded into the Indian territory at Doklam, Modi preferred to shake hands with the China premier and sip chai during the latter’s visit. He did not show the guts to register India’s protest. When terrorists attacked the CRPF convoy in Pulwama, he chose to keep himself busy in film shoot for three and half hours,” Rahul said, adding that such people need to be defeated and sent home.
Earlier, Telangana Congress campaign committee chairperson Vijayashanthi also took a broadside at KCR for maintaining cordial relations with the Modi government leaving the state’s interests in lurch. She called upon the people of Telangana not to repeat the mistake committed in the Assembly elections. Voting for the TRS would mean indirect support to the BJP at the Centre, she said and cautioned people not to fall prey to KCR’s false promises again. She said this was the best chance to teach a lesson to both Modi and KCR.
