17 suspects taken into custody

Nalgonda: The police took 17 suspects into custody and seized 71 bikes, one auto, 200 kgs jaggery, 12 beer bottles, two wine battles and six banned gutkha pockets, and 16 zarda pockets during cordon and search operation, conducted at Konda Mallepally in the district from 4 am to 7 am on Sunday.

Following the orders of District Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao, four CIs, seven Sis and other police personnel, led by Devarakonda Divisional Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar, conducted the cordon and search operation in Dhoolpet and Vysya Nagar, which come under the limits of Konda Mallepally police station.
 
Based on the inputs of intelligence wing about illegal activities going on in the area, the police searched all houses and verified the identity of the persons working and staying in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, DSP Ravikumar advised the people to inform the police about all those, whom they found suspicious. Do not give houses for rent to unknown persons, he added. 

People riding vehicles without valid papers would be punished as per the Act. He told the owners of the seized vehicles to take away their vehicles by producing relevant documents.
