Ramagundam’s old glory will be restored: Tummala
Peddapalli: The government is determined to place the State in top position in the development of roads, Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao said, after inaugurating Peddampet ROB bridge at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district on Tuesday. Finance Minister Eatala Rajendar also present on the occasion.
The R&B Minister said the brave decision of the State government has solved the burning problem of power supply in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State, within six months of coming to power. The stretch of national highway, which was 2,000 km earlier, was extended to more than 3,000 km.
The government’s unique project Mission Bhagirath will solve the water problem in Ramagundam region, through which, every household will be supplied with safe drinking water by giving tap connections by the end of March, Tummala assured.
He said the government had taken up Kaleswaram Project after penning an agreement with neighbouring states and the first phase of works will be completed by June this year.
Stating that the fertiliser company in Ramagundam, which had more than 1.16 lakh employees, was ruined during the united Andhra Pradesh State, Finance Minister E Rajendar assured of restoring lost glory to the factory and Ramagundam. He praised Ramagundam and Singareni workers for playing a key role in achieving separate Statehood for Telangana.
“By exerting pressure on the Central government, we restored FCI factory and fertilisers will be supplied through the factory in next year,” the Minister added. The government is determined to complete the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project at the earliest by getting all the required permissions.
He reminded Governor ESL Narasimhan appreciating the government after observing the pace at which the Project are going on. TSRTC Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana, MP Balka Suman, District Collector Deva Sena, Karimnagar ZP Chairperson Tula Uma, IDC Chairman Eda Shankar Reddy, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, Ramagundam Mayor Lakshmi Narayana, Godavarikhani ACP Apurva Rao and organiser of Women and Child Welfare Department Mula Vijaya Reddy were present along with others.
