SP inaugurates bridge on stream

Nirmal:  District Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier assured tribals of constructing a permanent road bridge over Dotti Vaagu at Yapalguda near Setpalli panchayat. He appreciated SI Sanjeev Kumar for making efforts to get a temporary bridge built over the stream. 

The SP inaugurated the bridge on Thursday and participated in a string of programmes, including serving food to tribals, as part of the people’s friendly police concept of the State government.

Speaking after inaugurating the temporary bridge built on the stream by the Pembi police here, the SP, who promised to visit the place only to inaugurate the permanent bridge, offered free coaching for the police recruitment test to tribals, who are keen on joining the department and also promised a job mela for them to get private jobs. 

Referring to recent clashes between Lambadas and Adivasis, he appealed to them to solve their problems amicably and quoted the instance of freedom struggle to drive his point home. He asked tribals to bring to the notice of the police if they noticed anything suspicious in the tribal thandas and hamlets. 

Quoting how the accused in Utnoor incident are cooling their heels behind the bars, he asked the tribals not to get provoked by the inflammatory speeches aired in social media. He asked them to bring to the notice of the police other problems also for amicable resolution of the problems. 

Later, he distributed clothes among 60 tribals of Ramnagar, Yapalguda, Vaspalli and Dondari. A community feast has been arranged for the tribals under the aegis of the police department. 

He distributed Rs 5000 among the winners team (Khanapur) and Rs 3000 among the runners-up team (Venunagar) along with shields in the Kabaddai tournament organised by the police department. Also, he distributed volleyball kits among the youth of Ramnagar, Yapalguda, Pembi, Setpalli and Itikyal. 

After inaugurating the bridge, he went to the residential school at Kosagutta and distributed school bags among the students. He advised them to read books on Mahatma Gandhi to derive inspiration from great leaders. He asked them to attain dizzy heights deriving inspiration from the great leaders. 

The SP travelled through the forest route to reach Pembi on a two-wheeler. The tribals welcomed the SP presenting him with a bouquet.DSP Manohar Reddy, CI Ashok Kumar, SI Sanjeev Kumar and village elders, including Sadanandam, Gori Peddaiah, Yellaiah and Rama Rao, were present on the occasion.
