SHGs told to utilise loans properly
Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath suggested the members of Self Help Groups (SHG), who got bank loans, to utilise the amount in a proper way. He was the chief guest at ‘Mahila Podupu Sandhala Loan Mela’ programme organised by Indian Bank of Pudur branch at Cheppyala village of Kodimyal mandal on Wednesday.
Informing that out of the set target of Rs 240 crores, about Rs 180 crores loans were sanctioned till date, the Collector advised the SHG members, who were sanctioned with bank loans, to pay the installments within the prescribed time limit.
He handed over a cheque for Rs 1.11 crores of loans to SHGs sanctioned by the bank.
Later, Collector Sharat inspected the Government High School in the mandal and interacted with the SSC students and advised them to concentrate on studies to get 98 per cent results in the coming up board examinations.
Then the Collector inspected Primary Health Centre and suggested the pregnant women to make use of KCR Kit under which, the government is sanctioning Rs 13,000 for girl child and Rs 12,000 for boy child and advised them not to waste money by going to private hospitals.
The Collector also inspected the construction works of double bedroom houses and directed the officials to deploy more labourers to complete the works before Ugadi festival. There is no deficit of funds for the 2BHK housing scheme, he added.
After observing the dried-up saplings planted under Haritha Haram programme, the Collector ordered the officials concerned to replace the saplings with new ones and to take necessary steps for protecting them.
