Sircilla: Nagaram village under Konaraopet mandal to get Rs 1-crore model library soon. Thanks to the Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao because of whose efforts Rajya Sabha member and yesteryears heroine Rekha Ganeshan had released funds from her MP-LAD for establishing the library. It may be mentioned here that Rao hails from this village.

A booklover himself, the Governor, who has a fair idea of how a library should be, told the District Collector Krishna Bhaskar to visit the exhaustive library run by a charitable trust - Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM) - at Sagroli in Nanded district of Maharashtra.

The Collector, who visited the library on Wednesday, spoke to the authorities and elicited information about the library. However, what caught the eye of the Collector was the model agricultural practice taken up by the Krishi Vignan Kendra that spread across 200 acres. It also houses a Sainik School, dairy farm, horticulture, animal husbandry etc. with excellent facilities including a swimming pool.

“We have plans to set up a model library in Nagaram with the funds provided by Rekha Ganeshan. The library model in Sagroli is beautiful. We would like to have the library that fulfills the aspirations of the youths preparing for competitive exams and useful for agricultural practices,” Krishna Bhaskar told The Hans India.

He said that overall the Krishi Vignana Kendra in Sagroli is amazing which any district would like to have one such a facility. The kind of experimentation going there in association with the private companies is simply superb, he added.

Nagaram village Sarpanch Gopadi Jyothy Surender Rao, Panchayat Raj DEE Bhumesh and AEE Manohar were also present with the Collector. Collector to take part in national-level workshop In another development, Krishna Bhaskar went to Delhi to take part in the National Consultee Workshop on Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) to be held on February 22 and 23 at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra.

It may be noted here that Krishna Bhaskar and Karimnagar District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad are the only two, who got invitation to the national-level workshop.
