Displaced to get their due: JC

 Sircilla: The works of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) taken up for those, who lost their land to a reservoir coming up at Anantagiri under Package -10 as part of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) will be completed very soon, the Joint-Collector (JC) Sheik Yasmeen Basha said.

The J-C, who inspected the works in progress at government land under Tangallapally revenue, said that efforts are on to ready the R&R colony as early as possible to relocate the oustees.

During her interaction with the locals, the latter urged her to assist them as they had been struggling to eke out a living since they lost their lands to the reservoir. “The government is trying to provide whatever it can do for the displaced. 

The R&R colony is one among them for the oustees,” Yasmeen Basha said, seeking people’s support for the project. She assured them of possible support from the government side. 

She was accompanied by revenue divisional officer Panduranga and tahsildar Anjanna. Later, the J-C inspected the works of Rythu Bazar besides the office of the Superintendent of Police in Sircilla town. She expressed her anguish over the engineering officials who were not present at the worksite.
