An anthology of short stories ‘Echoes from the Edge’ released
Hanamkonda: Good books have always had the capacity to bring transformation in the society, noted Prof M Sridhar of University of Hyderabad.
Though authoring books and editing them was a task that involves great skill and labour, it allows a writer to have a chance to offer something better to the society. Those makes use of that chance would have a prominent place among the societal members, he said.
Prof Sridhar on Thursday released a book titled ‘Echoes from the Edge’, along with Kendra Sahithya Akademi award recipient Ampasayya Naveen, Associate professor (Retd) K Damodar Rao of Kakatiya University and Chelimi Literary and Cultural Forum president Mettu Ravinder at University Arts and Science College in Hanamkonda.
The book, an anthology of Telugu short stories, was translated into English by E Satyanarayana, an English lecturer at Government Degree College, Narsampet. Addressing the gathering, writer Naveen wanted the writers to work with a dedication towards betterment of the society.
Damodar Rao aspired that English literature has to be more accessible to people of all sections while the book author Satyanarayana said though writing in English was a difficult task to accomplish, it gives immense pleasure at the end of the day.
Narsampet Government Degree College Principal B Chandramouli, Kaloji Foundation president N Rama Sastry, guests Vijay Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Venkaiah, Tirupathi Reddy, Dinakar and others were present.
