Hanamkonda: It was like being in seventh heaven for the orphans at Oasis Orphanage in Hanamkonda, where the town-based Sulakshya Seva Samithi organised Holi festivities.

A festive spirit gripped the orphanage on Thursday as all the children soaked to the skin in myriad colours of Holi and the children were even more delighted with the presence of a guest Prof MV Ranga Rao, former registrar of Kakatiya University.

“Every year I used to celebrate Holi with family members, colony residents and colleagues. But this time, I wanted to celebrate it with the kids at the orphanage. It is a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the kids joyfully frolicking,” Prof Ranga Rao said.

Sulakshya members, who have been striving for the wellbeing of the society, celebrated Holi using natural colours with the kids and it was part of our objective spreading love and affection, said the samithi president Santhosh Manduva.

“This we have been doing for the past eight years. It gives us immense contentment spending the day with kids at the orphanage and seeing smiles on their faces on finding bag full of colours we bring for them,” he added.

The in-charge of Oasis Orphanage Oddiraj Chandraprakash expressed his gratitude to Sulakshya members for celebrating the festival at the orphanage while an inmate Vishnu said the,y after having their breakfast, waited for the Sulakshya team to arrive as they do every year.

Members of the samithi Sai Hriday, Shiva Bonala, Sai Raj Siddhu, Rocky Teja, Vikhil Prabha and few others took part in the event.
