Suspend private agency, SU students demand
Karimnagar: The students of Satavahana University demanded that the government should suspend the private agency that has been maintaining the mess for the past two years in attached hostels of the university and hand over the responsibility to the government agency.
They submitted a representation to District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed at his chamber in the Collectorate here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the students pointed out that except in Satavahana University, private agencies are not allowed to run mess in university hostels.
When the university officials failed to respond to their demands despite the students staging a dharna in front of the University on Monday, the students decided to submit the representation to the District Collector.
But the police prevented them from meeting the Collector. Following which, about 400 University students staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate.
