TDP slams KCR’s Third Front idea

Update: 2018-03-08 06:30 IST

Hanamkonda: The Third Front proposal by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was a ploy to cover up his government’s failures, Telugu Desam State general secretary and Warangal Urban district president Eega Mallesham said.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that KCR is trying to divert the people’s attention by bringing Third Front proposal. He criticised KCR for his failure to stop the extension of Babli project though he was the Union Minister when Maharashtra government had started the construction of the project. “When KCR can’t stop Babli project during his stint as Union Minister, how he could manage the Third Front,” he said.

He said that the government’s exercise of setting up of Farmers’ Coordination Committees (FCCs) across the State is futile one. “The establishment of FCCs is aimed at strengthening TRS’ base across the State,” Mallesham said, questioning the rationale behind the move. The government which turned a blind eye while as many as 3,700 farmers committed suicides during its regime now suddenly showing its concern towards them, he said, demanding KCR to explain what he had done to farmers’ welfare.

TRS government which failed to fulfill its poll promises is trying to hoodwink the cultivators in the name of FCCs and Rs 4,000 per acre assistance for agriculture inputs, Mallesham said.

He criticised the Health Minister C Laxma Reddy for not upgrading MGM Hospital as a super-speciality one. The government which cannot provide facilities at MGM Hospital how can come up with a new super-speciality hospital, he pointed out.

Referring to Health Minister’s promise to fill 10,000 jobs in health department, Mallesham also found fault with him for not addressing the issue of Pharm D graduates who have been protesting demanding jobs. Senior leaders Chada Raghunatha Reddy and Tallapally Jayapal were among others present.
