Venkat Reddy attacked Swamy Goud as he is a BC

Hanamkonda: Giving a casteist twist to ruckus during the joint sitting of the State legislature on Monday, Gouda Yuvajana Sangham leaders have accused Nalgonda MLA K Venkat Reddy attacked Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud because he belongs to a BC caste.

Large number activists of the sangham have staged demonstration and burnt an effigy of MLA Venkat Reddy at Kaloji Centre in Hanamkonda on Tuesday, protesting over his behaviour towards the Council chairman.

Speaking to the press, the sangham leader J Ranjith Goud, BC Welfare Association leader V Venugopal Goud, Gouda JAC leader Chirra Raju Goud and others complained the Swamy Goud suffered serious eye injury when the MLA had thrown a headphone at him.

“The upper caste leaders are not able to digest the fact the BCs are sitting in two important constitutional posts, Assembly Speaker and Legislative Council Chairman. By his action, Venkat Reddy had hurt the sentiments of the Goud community,” they said.

The protesting leaders demanded the MLA to tender unconditional apology to Swamy Goud. They also wanted the government to book cases under attempt to murder section and send him to jail.
