Inter girl commits suicide over fear of failing exam

Warangal: An intermediate second-year student has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan using her chunni at her residence at Charbowli in Warangal on Wednesday. The student identified as Shanigarapu Chandana was studying MPC second year at SR Junior College. She appeared for her last examination, chemistry on Wednesday and was said to be depressed for not doing well in the exam.

The fear of failing in the exam might have compelled her to take the extreme step, the police said. When she returned from the exam, her parents, Sathish and Swaroopa, were away from attending a marriage ceremony.

When they returned home during late evening hours, what they found was their daughter hanging from the ceiling fan. The parents also found a selfie video she recorded on her phone, addressing parents to forgive her for failing to fulfil their dreams. According to the parents, the girl scored 9.7 GPA in SSC. The girl’s body was shifted to the MGM hospital for post-mortem. Intezargunj police registered a case and launched investigation.
