Warangal cops take to e-Petty case app
Warangal: The Warangal Police Commissionerate on Tuesday joined in the implementation of the e-Petty case app that deals with the petty offences. The State-wide initiative comes as part of protective policing of the police department to keep a tab on increasing crime rate.
The app helps police register cases immediately on the spot against the offenders, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder told the media persons here on Tuesday. He also explained the initiative’s mode of operation. It may be noted here that Police Department had developed the e-Petty app specifically to help the police for registering trivial cases and to pursue them.
The app, which runs on internet platform, necessitates police to enter the details of the trouble makers including their photographs. The police can also upload the proof of offence such as photographs, video clips etc. on the online platform so that they can be used as evidence.
The details of offenders reflect on police department’s database that can be accessed from anywhere. The app is bane for those habitual offenders, the Commissioner said, stating that police will have a focused approach on those.
Under the initiative, as many as 147 police officials working in the limits of 45 law and order police stations were given tabs. The officials were also told how to use the app. DCPs B Venkat Reddy, R Venkateshwarlu, Additional DCPs Puja and ACP Madan Lal were among others present.
