BSP Legal Cell terms NDA govt as anti-dalit
Hanamkonda: The activists of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Legal Cell have accused the NDA government led by BJP of displaying anti-dalit attitude.A group of activists have gathered at Telangana Martyrs Memorial in Hanamkonda on Wednesday and burnt an effigy of the NDA government.
The activists complained that the BJP was promoting atrocities against suppressed classes and violating their rights.
The Legal Cell convener Gadham Siva and others speaking to the press stated that the Centre has failed to protect the lives of Dalits, who were protested peacefully in northern states over the Supreme Court judgment related Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act of 1989.
Siva wanted the Centre to give details of atrocities on dalits that took place across the country in its review petition filed before the Supreme Court. The goons of Bajrang Dal and other Right wing outfits and the police have fired at innocent and unarmed protestors, he alleged.
The BSP leaders demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove Home Minister Rajnath Singh from the union cabinet for failing to ensure peace in northern states. They wanted Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia to the families of dalits killed during recent protests.
Advocates D Ramulu, D Venkata Ramana, Waddepally Srinivas, P Venkateshwarlu, J Jagan, the party activists Shanigarapu Raju, S Shyam, A Prashanth, Chirra Yellaiah and others took part in the protest.
