Revanth an item number hired by Congress: Dayakar Rao
Hanamkonda: TRS leader and Palakurthy MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao has described his former colleague in TDP, A Revanth Reddy a ‘buffoon’ hired by state Congress to entertain masses.
The TRS leader came down heavily on TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy, Revanth Reddy and others, saying that they, in their eagerness to target the TRS government, were blinded and unable to see rapid progress Telangana has been making.
They should compare the four-year’s rule by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and previous years rule by Congress. In Congress rule, farmers were left without seeds, fertilisers, and power supply. Now the situation was reversed with 24-hour free power amply supply of seeds and fertilisers, the MLA said.
Speaking to the press here on Thursday, MLA Dayakar Rao was amorous in his attack against Revanth Reddy, who derided the CM, Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and the TRS during the ongoing TPCC Prajachaitanya Yatra at Palakurthy and at Mogullapalli in the district.
“When he (Revanth Reddy) was in TDP we used to call his ‘item number’ (a song in Indian cinemas but not part of the movie). He is a blackmailer. Demands package for every word he speaks. He changed many parties before landing up in Congress,” he said venting his ire against the one with whom he once rubbed shoulders.
“I was with TDP since the beginning and never was defeated in any electoral fight. After the party leadership gave up the party in Telangana, with majority of the MLA we merged into TRS as per norms. But I did not change the parties like Revanth Reddy,” Dayakar Rao claimed.
Hitting at his arch rival in Palakurthy Assembly constituency, Janga Raghava Reddy, the TRS leader said, ‘He got the highest number of police cases against him after the slain gangster Nayeem and released a booklet with details of police cases on him.’
Another TRS leader Nagurla Venkateshwarlu also hit at Raghava Reddy and former chief whip G Venkata Ramana Reddy. Raghava Reddy got a history sheet (rowdy sheet) opened on him at different police stations while Ramana Reddy during his tenure as MLA focused amassing wealth, he said.
The TRS leaders advised Congress leaders not to day dream about gaining power in Telangana.Congress leaders were often claiming that they have accorded statehood to Telangana. But the fact was they did so under compulsion. Even after that the public rejected them in last elections and it shows how much aversion they had towards Congress, the TRS leaders pointed out.
