Be an employer not an employee
Warangal: Management students after completion of their studies should strive to explore avenues to create employment to youth rather than end up as employees, suggested Kakatiya University Vice Chancellor Prof R Sayanna.
The VC addressed management students’ meet MAD (Management Aptitude Development) Show-2018 which he launched at a grand ceremony at KU auditorium here on Friday. The two-day mega event with the theme ‘Aadya’ was being organised jointly by five constituent management colleges of the university.
The event was named ‘Synergy’ commemorating silver jubilee year of establishment of Business Management Department in the University. Large number management students from AP, Telangana and Karnataka States come together to exhibit their talents both in formal and informal events.
Prof Sayanna in his inaugural address told the upcoming managers that the corporate current world was competitive yet there were abundant opportunities for those who could think out of the box. “If you are innovative sky is the limit” he noted.
He felt that class room learning does not make a student employable. Hence students need to make extra efforts acquiring interpersonal and leadership skills, emotional balance, handling conflict and negotiations. Students should be self-motivated to achieve their goals and prove themselves.
The VC pointed out that events like MAD Show would strengthen relations among student community besides bringing out their hidden talents and skills like planning, organising, directing and controlling. Further participation in such events gives students confidence that were to ready to serve.
