Cops told to focus on accident-prone spots on Warangal-Khammam highway
Warangal: The presence of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras can make people feel secure, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said, emphasising the need for security surveillance in rural areas.
The CP who inspected Mamnoor, Ainavolu and Parvathagiri police stations on Friday stressed the need for focusing on frequent road accidents taking place on Warangal-Khammam highway. He directed the officials to identify the accident-prone zones in the region and take necessary measures to minimise the incidence of mishaps.
It may be noted here that of late there were quite a few road accidents that resulted in the death of people, especially students.“Set up barricades and warning signboards in spots where accidents are occurring more,” the CP told the station house officers concerned.
Village police officers need to visit villages once in four or five days so that they can create a rapport with the locals, Ravinder said, further emphasising the need for creating awareness among the villagers about installing CCTV camera surveillance in public places.
In another development, the Warangal Police Officers Association president Panjarla Ashok Kumar expressed gratitude to the State Government for hiking the police uniform allowance from Rs 3,500 to Rs 7,500 per annum.
