Lions Club 320F district 2nd annual convention tomorrow
Warangal: The second annual convention of Lions Club 320F is scheduled to be held here on April 8.The day-long event will take place at KLN Convention in Hanamkonda and begins at 8 am. Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary will be the chief guest, informed the Club district governor P Sampath Reddy.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, he said marking the occasion they are going to distribute 10 units of dead body freezers worth Rs 7 lakh, 10 units water coolers worth Rs 2 lakh and about 200 helmets will be distributed.
In the past year, the Club distributed 120 dual-desks to government schools and 175 sewing machines to women, collected 85 eyes and 15000 units of blood from donors, organised cataract operations for 120 persons, set up water plant worth Rs 50, 000 at Jangaon sub-jail and PMB Jan Aushadhi store at Mulug.
Similarly, under Swachh Bharat Mission 50 toilets worth Rs 7 lakh constructed at Mulug, besides conducting 45 diabetes screening camps and measles rubella awareness camps along with many other programmes, Sampath Reddy said.
The convention will be attended by the Club Multiple Chairman Prof V Gopal Reddy, multiple coordinator K Govindaraj, district vice governors KC John Bunny and Potlapalli Srinivasa Rao, former governors P Janardhan Reddy, K Rajender Reddy, P Chander, K Anjaiah and D Lavakumar Reddy.
The convention chairman N Raja Reddy, 320 F district secretary P Kishore, treasurer PV Narayana Rao, district communicator K Ramgopal Reddy and PRO T Narender and others are involved in making arrangements for the event.
