Baba Ramdev backs turmeric board in TS
Nizamabad: Farmers’ interests are paramount to me, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said. Speaking to media persons along with Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao and local MP K Kavitha here on Tuesday, Baba Ramdev said that he would support the Telangana government’s demand for establishing National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad.
“I will take part if Telangana leaders stage a protest in Delhi seeking Turmeric Board, which is a dire need to protect the interests of the farmers,” he said.
Baba Ramdev heaped praise on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, referring to the latter’s fight for more powers to states. “I have never seen a CM like KCR, who worked so hard for the upliftment of farmers in the country. He is selfless,” he said and assured to set up Patanjali food processing unit in Nizamabad if the government is ready to provide assistance.
A decision will be taken after the Cabinet sub-committee’s report on food processing units, Minister Harish Rao said.Earlier, inaugurating the Patanjali Yogpeeth three-day Yog Chikitsa and Dhyan Shivir at Giriraj College Grounds here, Kavitha said that Baba Ramdev is on a mission to propagate peace world across through Yoga.
She along with MLAs Linga Ganesh and A Jeevan Reddy was among scores of people participated in the Yoga class as Baba Ramdev demonstrated and explained the techniques.
