MB works will be completed in time: Collector

Jagtial: All necessary steps were taken to complete Mission Bhagiratha works at the earliest, stated District Collector Dr A Sharath.He inspected the overhead water storage reservoir (OHSR) works that are under progress at Singaraopet village and Zilla Parishad High School of Raikal mandal in Jagtial on Thursday.

The Collector said that the water will be supplied from Ibrahimpatnam reservoir to about 345 village panchayats and to three municipalities present across the district. The water from Jalathipur had already reached Ibhrahimpatnam reservoir from where it will be supplied to all OHSRs present in the villages.

Intra-village pipeline works were completed in 138 villages and the works under progress in the remaining villages would be completed by the end of June or July.To the existing 483 OHSR tanks, additional 329 tanks will be constructed in villages. Out of which, 118 OSHR works were completed, said the Collector.

Village-level officials, by involving the youth, must speed up the works to complete them as early as possible.Later, the Collector inspected the nursery at Thatlavai village and ordered the persons concerned to protect the saplings by watering them regularly. 

Interacting with the workers, Sharath enquired them whether they were being paid their wages regularly or not.The Collector advised them to utilise various government welfare schemes and to joint their children in government schools.Assistant project director Lakshminarayana, RWS executive engineer Ramchandar, Raikal mandal tahsildar Hanumanth Reddy, MPDO Rathod and other officials were present.
