MLA asks NGOs to reach out to the needy
Warangal: Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh called upon the non-governmental organisations to reach out to the needy with increased number of service activities.
He said though the government implements many welfare programmes, the role played by NGOs is crucial in reaching the unreached. The MLA on Thursday inaugurated a mega free health camp at Siddapur in Hasanparthy mandal in the district. The camp was organised by Sarvodaya Youth Organisation, in association with Hyderabad-based Hand of Hope for the benefit of rural poor.
Addressing the gathering, Ramesh stated that the TRS government was giving greater importance to health and education. The KCR Kits introduced by the government enabled the rural women have safe delivery without any expenditure and also receiving monetary benefits. Steps were being taken to improve medical services at government hospitals, he said.
The MLA, while appreciating Sarvodaya for conducting service activities in the villages, has appealed its secretary P Damodar to establish a free tailoring and computer training centre in Wardhannapet Assembly constituency.
Warangal Urban district medical and health officer Dr B Harishraj stressed on the need of organising free medical camps in rural areas. He informed that measures were being taken to develop infrastructure at Hasanparthy health centre.Sarvodaya secretary Damodar in his address said they have been engaged in different service activities for the past 24 years.
Nearly 20 mega health camps were conducted in Warangal Urban and Rural districts so far.A medical camp would also be held at Madipalli village in the district on Friday, he informed adding that at Siddapur camp nearly 500 patients were treated and distributed medicines free of cost. Spectacles would be given to those, who were in need of them, on April 23.
Local sarpanch G Eshwaramma, MPTC J Kiran, MPP Sukanya, ZPTC Subhash Goud, Gudeppad Market Committee chairman Bandi Rajani Kumar, MPDO Srivani, sarpanches from nearby villages, Sarvodaya coordinator Ch Ravinder were present.
