Modi’s protest indicates Centre’s failure
Karimnagar: TPCC vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for staging a day-long fast in Hubli-Dharwad. It may be mentioned here that Modi staged a day-long fast in Karnataka’s Hubli on Thursday to protest against the Opposition’s conduct in Parliament.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Prabhakar questioned the rationale behind Modi’s protest though he is the PM of the country. Modi’s protest indicates the BJP government’s failure, he said. “Although the BJP has a complete majority in the Parliament, it’s unable to run the House properly,” he alleged.
Fearing a debate over its failures, the BJP didn’t allow the no-confidence motion moved by the YSR Congress and Telugu Desam, Prabhakar said, referring to the Centre’s failures in regard with the demonetisation and GST. He alleged that the BJP instigated a few parties to disrupt the proceedings of the House to avoid the no-trust motion.
Referring to the Centre’s failure to grant special category status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, Prabhakar said that over the years the southern States are subjected to injustice.
He said that all the recent by-polls results have come in favour of the Congress. This indicates the downfall of the Narendra Modi-led Central government. The forthcoming elections in Karnataka will also prove that graph of Modi government is coming down.Leaders Anugu Manohar Reddy, Erram Raju, Sagaram Venkataswamy, Mudike Chandrasekhar and Kuragayala Komuraiah were among others present.
