Warangal: The future of the employees under Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and families would be bleak if the CPS is not withdrawn, stated the Telangana State Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Union (TSCPSEU) District Convener Doddipati Hari Kumar.

He wanted the employees to understand the problems they will face if the pension is continued in the State and appealed the employees and their families to attend Jana Jatara Sabha scheduled to be held at Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad on April 15 in large numbers.  Hari Kumar informed that preparatory meetings with all the CPS employees and TSCPSEU across the erstwhile Warangal district have been conducted during the past fortnight.

The objective of the meeting in Hyderabad is to highlight the financial losses have to undergo under the CPS and to intensify the struggle against it. The scheme will serious negative impact on the post retirement life of the employees.

The State government employees are deprived of facilities like pension, gratuity, dearness allowance, General Provident Fund and others. About 1.27 lakh employees in the State are being affected because of the CPS, he said speaking to The Hans India here on Friday.

Nonetheless, the State government under whose purview the issue of annulling the CPS falls remained silent despite several agitations in the past. That is why the TSCPSEU has decided to organise Jana Jatara Sabha to exert pressure on the government, Hari Kumar said.

The government must make its stand clear on the issue and write a letter to the centre immediately seeking abolition of the CPS, he demanded. He informed that it is planned to mobilise as many as 10, 000 employees and their families from erstwhile Warangal for the meeting.

Buses for transportation are arranged for the employees and their families to reach Hyderabad. The buses will start from Chintagattu camp, Adalath Chowrastha, Warangal urban collector office, GWMC head office and MGM Hospital during morning hours of April 15, he added.
