Govt will purchase your produce: Eatala to farmers
Peddapalli: Do not sell the produce to the middlemen for less price, the government will purchase it by paying minimum support price (MSP), the Finance Minister Eatala Rajender appealed the farmers. The Minister visited Peddapalli Market Yard and inspected the corn and grains purchasing centre on Thursday.
Speaking to the media persons, the Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said several programmes were introduced for the development and welfare of the farmers after the formation of Telangana government. The farmers are facing loss by selling the corns only for Rs 1200 per one quintal for middlemen. The government is ready to purchase the corns by fixing MSP Rs 1,425 per one quintal from the farmers by opening special purchasing centres and through IKP centres, assured the Minister.
For grade-A paddy grains Rs 1,590 and for normal paddy Rs 1,550 per one quintal MSP will be paid to the farmers. The amount will be deposited into the bank accounts of farmers within three days of after purchasing the grains from them, the Minister said.
Some of the middlemen by alleging that the quality of the grains is poor are purchasing the grains for less price and are cheating the farmers, the farmers should not believe middlemen and must sell their produce to IKP and grains purchasing centres opened by the government.
The MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy, Agriculture Market Chairman Ilaiah Yadav, Karimnagar Mayor Ravinder Singh, District Libraries Chairman Raghuveer Singh and other officials were present.
