Two held for cheating;property seized
Karimnagar: The Karimnagar Police arrested two persons on Thursday who allegedly cheating the people with fake currency notes of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denominations.
According to the Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy, the accused were identified as Shaik Abdul Ghani alias Shakeer alias Venkat Rao resident of Kakinada and Guvvala Prakash alias Nani resident of East Godavari District and the third accused Ammishetti Ravi resident of Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district was absconding.
The accused were cheating the people by luring them with fake notes for original ones (For Rs 1 lakh original notes Rs 3 lakhs of fake notes). They trap the innocent people by calling them on phone and tell them that they will give fake notes for original ones and will give bundles of black coated papers making the people believe that by using a chemical given by them the black coated papers will turn into fake currency notes and then can use them without any hesitation.
They play a trick using the few original notes in middle of bundles and demonstrate in front of them handling over the people the chemical bottle. When the people realise that they were cheated, the accused will change their sim cards and search another person.
After receiving complaints from the people, the police traced the mobile numbers and nabbed the accused on Thursday and seized two cars, equipment and chemical bottles, documents, 15 fake gold coins and roll gold ornaments along with eight mobiles from their possession. The police started a man hunt for the third accused, said the Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy.
