Take action against all scamsters: Congress

Update: 2018-05-10 06:16 IST

Warangal: Even as the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, reportedly directing Crime Investigation Department (CID) to revive the case related Indiramma  Housing (IH) scam, a senior Congress leader Rajanala Srihari demanded the government action to be taken against all those involved in the case.

The government should act honestly in punishing those committed alleged irregularities in Indiramma Housing scheme during 2006 and 2014, he told the government, while warning that if the government failed to do so, he would take up serious agitations.

Srihari, who is the city Congress working president, in a statement here on Wednesday, stated that majority of those involved in the housing scam were now in the ruling TRS party and holding positions of ministers, legislators and corporators.

That was why the CM ordered CID probe into the scam soon after he assumed power in the State and remained silent later even after the investigating team submitted a preliminary report confirming irregularities.

The CM was afraid that if action was taken against those in the scam, he had to punish his own party men, Srihari noted adding that the TRS leaders, who were involved in the scam, have put pressure on the government to put the case in cold storage.

The Congress leader further warned that if the government failed to act, he would reveal the names of those involved in the scam in a public forum.
