Goverdhan Rao takes charge as NITW registrar
Warangal: After a long gap, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal has now got a regular registrar. The Director (personal & administration) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), S Goverdhan Rao, has assumed charge of the post of Registrar here on Thursday. The new registrar was welcomed and congratulated by the NITW Director Prof NV Ramana Rao.
Goverdhan Rao has worked in different units of the DAE, such as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu and others.
He also held the charge of internal financial adviser and vigilance officer in IGCAR, Kalpakkam. Goverdhan Rao is highly qualified with post-graduation in Public Policy & Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru, LLB from Osmania University, and PG diploma in Patents Law from NALSAR University.
Speaking after assuming the charge, he said he would make efforts to address the pending issues, like revision of pay as per the orders based on the recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission, revision of pension of pre-2016 retired employees, filling up of vacancies and others NIT Director Prof Ramana Rao thanked Prof K Laxma Reddy, who rendered services as in-charge registrar till date. All faculty members, students and representatives of different associations have welcomed new registrar Goverdhan Rao.
