Adilabad cops ready for VIP-guarding

Adilabad: With the general elections due next year, the district police administration has stretched its eyes on VIP security. In a bid to beef up security cover to State-level VIPs during their visit to the district, six police personnel including a woman constable have been trained in Police Training Centre at Moinabad in the State capital Hyderabad.

“The six-member team, which is also known as Close Protection Team, is ready and raring to go on special duty. In view of elections next year, there was a possibility of a host of leaders visiting the district for campaigning,” Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier said, detailing the kind of rigorous training the team underwent. 

The district police are fully geared up, he added. Home guard reserve inspector G Ramesh, Reserve Sub-inspector M Ratan, constables – E Navakanth Reddy, T Bhojanna, S Adellu and Armed Reserve woman constable G Mounika are the six members who successfully completed the training. Reserve inspectors V Vamanamurthy, O Sudhakar Rao and CC Durgam were among others present.
