Govt schools offer quality free edcation to all

Warangal: MLAs and teachers at government schools in erstwhile Warangal have been conducting ‘Aksharabhyasam’ and awareness rallies in a bid to promote government schools as part of Badi Baata.

Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker along with Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata on Wednesday attended a programme at Shayampet Government High School in Hanamkonda and conducted ‘Aksharabhyasam’ wherein children were given initiation into education.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said Jayashankar Badi Baata, the prestigious programme, undertaken by the Telangana government was aimed to improve enrolments in State-run schools and reduce the number of dropouts.

The programme was also aimed at attracting dropouts to schools so that all children under the age group of 4 to 14 years attend school by encouraging parents to send their wards to government schools in their locality, Vinay Bhasker said.

He said with the committed efforts being made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, all required facilities were being provided at government schools in the State. Care was taken to ensure quality free education offered to the students at the schools on par with private schools.

The MLA distributed uniforms to the students. Regional Joint Director (School Education) P Rajiv, district educational officer K Narayana Reddy, mandal educational officer Veerabhadram, local GWMC corporator Aruna Shiva Shanker and others took part in the programme.  

In a similar programme at Parkal, local MLA Ch Dharma Reddy conducted ‘Aksharabhyasam’ in traditional manner wherein he made the children write letters on rice grains spread over a plate. He appealed the parents in Parkal constituency to send their children to government schools.

At Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) at Kambalapally village near Mahabubabad, the school teachers, students and the School Management Committee members led by the school headmaster M Srinivasulu took out an awareness rally asking villagers to send their children to the school.

The headmaster Srinivasulu, science teacher V Gurunadha Rao and others explained the villagers that their children would be provided free text books, two pairs of uniforms, nutritious mid-day meal, scholarships and quality education in English and Telugu media.

They said the ZPHS Kambalapally is equipped with full-fledged science laboratory, library, computer lab, digital class room and others. The teachers would adopt the students for a personalised monitoring and to ensure stress free educational environment.
