Colony Walk to create crime-free colonies: Karimnagar CP
Karimnagar: The One Town police on Monday launched a unique drive ‘Colony Walk’ to create awareness among the people about safe and crime-free colony and about the importance of CCTV cameras. The drive was followed by a suggestion of Commissioner of Police Kamalasan Reddy.
As per the unique programme, the police will select a colony, will gather youth and elders of the colony and will go door to door. They will explain the methods to be followed for maintaining peace and harmony in the colony along with explaining about various types of crime that took place.
On the first day, the police personnel conducted ‘Colony Walk’ in Alkapuri colony. Understanding the importance of electronic vigil, some of the colony people came forward and donated Rs 3 lakhs for the installation of CCTV cameras in the colony.
Karimnagar One Town circle inspector Tula Srinivas Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police Venkataramana, colony elders Sai Reddy, Hanumanth Reddy, Narasimha Reddy, Nagabhushanam and youth participated in the walk.
