Conduct gram panchayat elections in efficient manner: Karimnagar Collector

Karimnagar: District Collector Sarfaraj Ahmed ordered the officials to take necessary steps for conducting gram panchayat elections. He was the chief guest at the training programme of gram panchayat elections-2018 at the collectorate auditorium in Karimnagar on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the powers and duties of Returning Officers-1 will begin from the day the gram panchayat election notification issued till the allotment of symbols to the candidates.

And the duties of Returning Officers-2 will begin from the time of allotment of symbols to the candidates till the election results are declared. The Returning Officers should receive nomination papers as per schedule and must observe the nomination papers very keenly.

He suggested the RO’s to take necessary precautions for conducting gram panchayat elections in a pleasant atmosphere by estimating the law and order situations in every village. Election code should be strictly implemented in all villages along with taking stern actions against those, who violate the election code.

District panchayat officers Narayana Rao, Kishan Swamy, Thirupathi Reddy, Rajendar Reddy, Balaji, Tirupathi, Surendar, Ashok and Parsharamulu were present.
