Expose anti-Dalit attitude of State, Central government: Meira Kumar
Warangal: Lok Sabha former Speaker Meira Kumar has asked the state and district Congress leaders to take to streets exposing the anti-dalit attitude of State and Central governments.
The former Speaker, who attended ‘Dalita Girijana Simha Garjana’ public meeting in Hanamkonda on Sunday, paid a visit to the district Congress president Naini Rajender Reddy’s residence during late evening hours on that day for having dinner.
Meira Kumar was accompanied by the TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and former union minister P Balram Naik. During her interaction with the party leaders, she felt that lives and rights of dalits and tribals in the country were being sabotaged by the BJP government at the centre.
The situation in the State was no different and hence Congress leaders have to make efforts to fight for the rights of dalit and tribal communities by organising protests and meetings, the former Speaker suggested.
The TPCC secretaries EV Srinivas Rao and B Srinivas Rao, Warangal District Central Cooperative Bank former chairman J Raghava Reddy and others were present.
