Telangana Govt determined to make Karimnagar a smart city: MLA Gangula Kamalakar

Karimnagar: The State government is allotting Rs 100 crores to take up various developmental activities in the city to transform Karimnagar into a smart city, said MLA Gangula Kamalakar.

The MLA along with city Mayor Ravinder Singh and municipal Commissioner Shashank inspected various developmental activities that are in progress and also observed Smart city design, designed by the consultancy, here in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gangula Kamalakar said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was determined to transform Karimnagar into a smart city. 

As part of it, Rs 100 crore per annum was being sanctioned for the last four years. Renovation works of 12 junctions present in the city were taken up at a cost of Rs 2 crores, he added.

The amount sanctioned was utilised for construction of parks, roads, drains, islands, burial grounds and many other developmental works, which are essential for common public living in the city.

All the developmental activities are taken up in accordance with the convenience of the people. Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, during his visit to Karimnagar, inspected the developmental works and gave necessary suggestions for the officials concerned.

All necessary steps were taken for the development of Tower Circle, which is located at the center of the city along with creating awareness among the people by taking them to the place like Amritsar. People must extend their cooperation in the developmental works that are going in the city. Deputy Mayor Ramesh and APT Vandanam were present along with corporators of various divisions.
