Excerpts:
What inspired you to participate in the first edition of the Makeup GenNext programme?
The field of beauty is challenging; for, unlike many others, we don't have as many talent hunts and platforms to showcase our talent. So, when I was tagged in a post that was a call for the Makeup artist of the Year, I just knew I had to give it a try- I participated out of passion, but my skills were noticed, and I was awarded the ‘Lakme Makeup Artist of The Year '18’.

Your experience at first edition of the Makeup GenNext programme?
It was an amazing experience! We were flown down to Mumbai and the event took place at the St Regis hotel. We demonstrated, bring to bear a creative look on a model. The finalists were five makeup artistes from different parts of the country--- to be chosen and awarded by noted names in the industry was a true honour!

What are the challenges that you faced in the competition?
Each makeup artiste has a different style. While I demonstrated a soft blue halo eye, others did clean sharp graphic eye, each one was different from the other.  I would say the challenge was that everyone was so talented!

You have worked for Tollywood films. Any plans for Bollywood?
I have always gone with the flow, been open to what life has to offer. If I ever get the opportunity… Why not!

What is the quickest way to turn work for the day into something that lasts also at night for women?
During the day, just keep clean and fresh with a top liner look and nude lips; for the night add some kohl in the water line, mascara and brightenup the lips!

What is the trend for the bride?
Anushka Sharma gave us some serious bridal insights, fresh and glowing make-up, natural fluttery lashes and lipstick with pink tones. Then again, I feel that bridal makeup is a very personal choice!

What three makeup items should no woman leave home without?
Sunscreen, nude lipstick and mascara .

Any tips on how girls can achieve a look that is both “cool” and parent-friendly?
Like clothing, even makeup is a very personal choice! Pick what suits you and your face shape best and that will make you look cool! For your skin, I would recommend picking up an international product; for lips and eyes, you can play around with our local brands!
